Moving to a new house can be very stressful as it is. If you have a large collection of houseplants, it can be even more stressful. Luckily, the staff here at Plant Delivery Shop has tips and tricks you can add to your toolbox in order to make sure your plants arrive at their destination as healthy as possible.

Using Your Car to Move Houseplants

One of the positives to using your car when transporting your houseplants is that you're able to control the environment. First, you are able to drive carefully, ensuring your plants aren't knocked over or jostled around. Second, you get to set the cabin temperature to what is comfortable for your plants. Of course, this isn't going to be practical for people who either don't own a vehicle or those who own plants that are simply too large to fit inside their car.

Renting a Truck

Renting a truck for those larger plants can be a good option as well. Keep in mind that, while you may plan on driving carefully, many people are not accustomed to driving large vehicles. Be sure that you're securing your plants so that they don't end up tipping over and getting damaged.

Be Prepared to Take Extra Care at the Destination
We've all moved before and know that something always goes wrong. We are going to be doing everything we can in order to get our leafy friends safely to their new home. Be sure that you have extra supplies ready to quickly fix any mishaps. It's a great idea to have potting soil ready for any loss of soil that may have occurred during their trek. It's also important to do any needed trimming if leaves have died along the way.

Shipping Your Plants

Plant Delivery Shop sends plant shipments to our customers, so we know a thing or two about shipping plants safely. However, mishaps do happen, as once the package leaves your hands, any number of things my occur. As such, it's important that we take the proper precautions in order to give plants the best possible conditions.

You'll want to make sure your plant soil is properly watered for the shipment. Make sure you label your package as fragile, and be sure to also indicate which side is up. Also, be sure that you choose a fast shipping time, as you don't want your plants to be spending too long in transit. If you expect your plants are going to be in cold conditions, it's a good idea to add some extra insulation, or have holes for plants to breathe if you expect it to be very hot. Then once they arrive, unpack them from the box and get them to the proper conditions as quickly as possible.

You've successfully gotten your plants to your new home. This is where the work really begins, because you're going to need to exercise patience and really pay attention to the needs of your house plants. Moving plants can cause quite a bit of stress for them, so they may need some time to adjust. Watering and sunlight needs may have changed, so pay extra attention to how they respond in their new location. You can adjust their positioning once you get a hang of where they are able to best flourish.

Moving houseplants can be a lot of work, but putting in the effort is well worth it. Your new space will be a beautiful paradise as a result!
